Pan and agents, one question at a time.

The key and the model, Pan in the column, search, memory, agents and the jobs that start on their own. Every answer says where to press, with the names you see on screen.

The key, the models and the cap

How do I connect Pan to a provider?

Open the Connect Pan to a provider guide, in “To start”, or Pan’s key in Settings. Choose OpenRouter, EUrouter or another provider, give the permission or paste the key: Pan tests it at once and saves it sealed. The full steps are in Pan’s key.

Who pays for Pan, and which providers does it work with?

Whoever uses it, with their own key and cap: never the organization’s key, not even in scheduled jobs and channels. The providers are OpenRouter, EUrouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and DeepSeek, and Pan works out which one it is from the key you paste.

What happens if I already have a chatbot subscription?

It is not enough: the key is paid separately, with a credit on the provider’s site, and without credit Pan does not answer. Amounts and terms are the provider’s, and you see them on its site.

How do I pick the model?

From the model field choose Automatic or one of your provider’s: the box has three lists, Recommended, Always the latest and All, and searches at the start of words. Pan, Search and each agent of the code team have their own model. See Pick the model.

What does “always the latest” mean, and how often is the list updated?

It is a name that follows the newest version of that model on its own: when a new one comes out, it points to it, and you do not choose again. The list is what the provider gives to whoever has the key, and it is re-read every hour.

What happens when I reach the cap?

Pan stops and says you have used everything for today: it frees up over the next hours. The cap is per person and counts the last 24 hours; in “Your Pan”, under Your key, you see the key and how much you used today.

Pan in the column and search

How do I open Pan?

Tap the bubble at the bottom right: the conversation opens in the right-hand column, next to the page. Open Pan in full size takes it to a tab, with the list of conversations on the left.

What does Pan see when I ask it something?

What you see: the open document and its text, the space, the text you selected. With the paperclip next to the field you give it a page or a file to read (text, Word, Excel, PDF), up to three. It searches only what you can read, and under the answer it shows what it read.

How do I write with Pan, and can it write on its own?

With Write with Pan, in documents, in table cells, in Messages and in Mail, the proposal shows under the text and Replace or Insert after put it where you want: it goes only when you send it. To write in an outside service, or to click on a site, Pan asks permission: Yes, this time, Yes, for this conversation or No. To-dos and new pages are created only with your tap.

How do I call Pan in a Messages chat?

Write @ and pick Pan, or one of your agents, then the question: in place of send, Privately and For everyone appear. The first answers in Pan’s column, the second in the channel. Pan does not read other people’s messages unless you call it.

How do I search, with sources?

In a new browser tab, What are you looking for?: an address opens the site, words make an answer with sources, which open from the numbers. It searches your pages, mail, messages, calls and meetings that you can see, and the web (Local, Online or both). Copy or Save as Document keeps the answer.

What happens when Pan uses the browser?

Web pages open in the tab next to your pages, and when Pan uses it a notice says so, with Stop it. To click or type on a site it asks permission, and a downloaded file can be saved in a space.

Agents

How do I create an agent?

By talking to Pan: choose New agent in Talk to…, or in the left column of Pan in full size. Pan asks what it does, where, how much on its own and when it starts, with ready-made answers above the field; then you manage it in Agents Team.

How do I choose an agent’s face?

With Choose its face: ten colors, eight hats and up to three elements, such as glasses, headphones or a bow tie. Random proposes one, Save keeps it and the face changes everywhere. Afterwards only the person who made the agent changes it, with Change face while talking to it or Change the look in Agents Team.

How do I make an agent start on its own?

With Let it start on its own…: at a set hour, or when something happens, such as a new row in a table of its space, a thing assigned to it, a comment or a mail. It works with its job and only in its space. Deadlines, Marta’s agent, starts every Monday at 9 and proposes two to-dos in Now.

Where do I find what an agent proposes?

In Now, under To decide, or on the Proposals page, in the Other group: every proposal has Yes and No. The yes creates the to-dos, the no discards them, and a decided proposal does not come back. An agent that “only prepares” does not use the services that write.

What happens when an agent reaches its cap?

It stops and says so, and starts again once the time has passed. An agent can have a cap of its own, a share of the cap of whoever prepared it: you see it in its card in Agents Team, with Change the cap; without one, what it asks counts in yours. Whoever prepared it pays, with their own key.

How do I stop an agent?

From Agents Team, or by removing it: its running jobs stop. For one that starts on its own there is also Stop a job that starts on its own.

Memory, scheduled jobs and channels

Where do I find what Pan remembers?

In a table, Memory, in your Private: you open it with The memory… next to an agent or with Open the memory in Your Pan, and correct a memory like any row. Remember something asks it to note one, Forget removes one and Forget everything removes them all: the row goes to the trash and can be taken back. Pan and every agent read and write only their own, at most 200 each.

How do I tell Pan “how we do it here”?

With a procedure: a text that Pan and the agents open when needed. In Your Pan choose How we do it here, then Add… and A procedure. For everyone it is written by whoever governs the functions, a personal one only by whoever uses it.

How do I schedule a job for Pan?

Tell Pan, for example “every Monday at 9 summarize what is due”, and press Schedule it on the card under the answer; or choose New scheduled job and write the task, when and at what time. It starts with your key and your cap, and the answer sits in the job’s conversation. With Stop Pan will not do it anymore, and earlier answers stay.

How do I write to Pan from Telegram, Slack or WhatsApp?

In Your Pan choose Add a channel… (whoever has the “Connect services” permission does it): Telegram, Slack, WhatsApp, Discord, Teams or another app. Then each person connects with their own code. Pan answers only in direct messages, in your private chat, with your key.

How do I connect a service I already use to Pan?

In Your Pan choose Connect a service to Pan…: GitHub, Zapier or a service of yours. You test it and with Choose the tools… you decide which to use. The ones that read Pan uses on its own; to write, it asks permission, every time.
