Pan works when you are away.

You say “every Monday at 9 summarize…” and Pan proposes the job. With your tap it starts on its own, with your key and your cap, and the answer arrives in the job’s conversation.

In detail

  • Pan proposes it.

While talking, Pan proposes a scheduled job or an agent: a card under the answer, with Schedule it or Create the agent. The tool creates nothing: you do, with a tap.

  • It starts as you, checked every minute.

The jobs engine, every minute, starts what has reached its time, as the person who asked: their key, their cap, their identity, their memory.

  • An agent too.

Let it start on its own… for an agent: at a set hour, or when there is a new, closed or blocked row, an assigned thing, a comment. It works with its job and only in its space.

  • The same round does more.

Scheduled messages (as whoever wrote them), alarms on a page and reminders in the bell of whoever set them, and nobody else.

  • If something stops.

A job that does not reach the end says so in its conversation, in words: the missing key, the cap reached, the model that does not answer. One left halfway resumes from the turns already done.

How to use it

Five moves, from the sentence to the job running.

  1. Tell Pan.

“Every Monday at 9 summarize what is due”.

  2. Press Schedule it.

The card under the answer puts it among Scheduled jobs in Your Pan.

  3. Or write it by hand.

New scheduled job asks for the task, when and at what time.

  4. Look at the job’s conversation.

Each time it starts, the answer is there, with the sources at the bottom.

  5. Stop it whenever you want.

Stop: Pan will not do it anymore, and earlier answers stay. For an agent that starts on its own there is Stop a job that starts on its own.

Examples

Made-up people and data.

  1. Marta, Mirto Labs

    Monday at 9.

“Every Monday at 9 summarize what is due”. Pan proposes the job and Marta presses Schedule it. On Monday the answer is in the job’s conversation.

  2. Luca, Mirto Labs

An agent that starts from a new row.

Luca chooses Let it start on its own… for an agent: it starts when a row is born in the requests table, and works only in its own space.

  3. Anna, Mirto Labs

    Stopping it.

The summary is no longer needed. Anna presses Stop: Pan will not do it anymore, and earlier answers stay.

Frequently asked questions

Can a job write in an outside service?

In the background no tools that ask permission: the to-dos of a proposing agent are not created, they become a request in Now.

Which key does it work with?

Yours. Whoever uses Pan pays for it, in jobs too: without your key the job does not start, and it says so.

How long can a job last?

Up to twenty turns or twenty minutes in all: if the answer is longer, Pan continues from where it was.

What else starts on its own?

Scheduled messages, reminders, alarms on pages and outside calendars, which are re-read every half hour.
