Files to read and sign.

PDF, Word, Excel and images open without leaving Fallthere. A PDF can be signed, and the signed copy sits next to the original.

In detail

  • The simple signature.

You draw or write your signature in the viewer and place it where needed. The signed copy is born: the original stays as it was; at each place the signature appears with “Signed by…”, the day and the time, and at the end a page says who signed, in which organization and the SHA-256 fingerprint of the document before signing.

  • A limit, said plainly.

The simple signature is an electronic signature: it says who was signed in to Fallthere with their account when they signed. It is not a digital signature with a certificate.

  • Digital signature, with your provider.

Digital signature uses the certificate you hold from your remote signing provider, with the Cloud Signature Consortium standard. A PDF becomes a signed PDF (PAdES), another file a .p7m.

  • The document does not leave.

Only the fingerprint to sign goes to the provider, and the signature comes back. Password, PIN and code are not saved and end up in no log.

  • It is checked before it is handed over.

The signed file is re-read as anyone would read it: if the signature does not hold, or does not cover the whole file, it does not go out.

How to use it

Four moves, from the file to the signature.

  1. Open the file.

From +, File, or from a file already in the space: it opens in the viewer.

  2. Choose the signature.

Sign for the simple signature, Digital signature for the one with the certificate.

  3. Place it where needed.

You draw or write the signature, and move it to the chosen places. Up to sixty places.

  4. Look at the signed copy.

It appears next to the original, with who signed and when.

Examples

Made-up people and data.

  1. Marta, Mirto Labs

    A pilot contract.

The PDF opens in the viewer. Marta draws the signature, places it, and next to the original the signed copy appears, with “Signed by…”, the day and the time.

  2. Marta, Mirto Labs

    A signature with the certificate.

For an agreement that asks for a digital signature, Marta chooses Digital signature: the PDF becomes a signed PDF with her provider’s certificate. The file does not leave Fallthere.

  3. Luca, Mirto Labs

An Excel sheet to look at.

Luca opens an Excel file without downloading it: the sheet reads in the viewer, next to his pages.
