Coding and apps, one question at a time.
GitHub and the code project, Pan on code, the team of agents, apps and connectors, outside assistants and the terminal. What is not there yet we say, with no dates.
Coding, GitHub and the project
How do I turn on Coding?
Coding is off by default. The + at the bottom of the bar, Add or remove apps, puts it in the bar; it also turns on by opening a code project.
How do I connect GitHub?
Whoever has the “Keys” permission connects the organization’s app: Settings, Administration, GitHub, then Connect the organization’s GitHub. Anyone can also say yes in their own name, or paste a code, in My GitHub (Settings, Account, with Coding on). The full steps are in A code project.
What happens if I do not have the organization’s app?
You use your personal access: in My GitHub choose among three ways, the app, a classic token or a fine-grained one, with the form already filled in. A repository that already existed, or belongs to someone else, is used only with your personal token.
How do I create a code project?
A code project is a space’s folder with its repository on GitHub. From the “+” choose Code project, or right-click on a folder and choose Make it a code project…, or New code project. The repository is born empty and private, and the first commit, the structure, is yours; or you pick one you already have.
Where does Pan work on the code, and who signs the commits?
On the server, next to your space: each person has their own working copy of the project. Every commit carries “Co-authored-by: Pan on code”; with the organization’s app and without your personal GitHub, it also carries the name and mail of the Fallthere account.
Pan on code and the team
How do I ask Pan to work on the code?
In the right-hand column open the Pan on code tab, write in the What should I do in the code? field and press Ask. Closing the tab stops the work.
What happens when Pan on code wants to run a command?
In the project’s folder it writes; outside the folder, and for every command, it asks permission, for example to run “npm test”. Answer Yes, this time, Yes, for this conversation or No: if you do not answer for ten minutes, it is a no.
Can Pan change the main branch?
No. It works on a branch of its own, “agente/” with the date and the task, makes a commit at the end of the turn and pushes without forcing: Changes shows the files changed on the branch. Once per session it prepares the draft merge request, which waits for a person; where GitHub allows it the main branch is protected, and on a private repository of a free GitHub plan the draft is a request with “Draft:” in the title.
How do I watch, and stop, Pan while it tests the site?
With the browser on, Pan on code opens the site it builds on localhost, reads it and takes pictures, clicks and types in it, watches the console and tries it at 375 pixels. The Browser tab opens next to it and says when it is using it: Stop it stops it, I take over gives the controls back to you.
How do I put several agents on the code, each with its own model?
Open The code team (Settings, Account, it is there only with Coding on) or the button The team in Pan on code. Choose Who coordinates and its model, then Add an agent with a name, When to use it and its model, and Save. The coordinator hands the work to whoever is needed: how it works.
Who pays for the code team, and which models does it use?
Whoever uses it, with their own OpenRouter key and cap, never the organization’s. The models are OpenRouter’s that use tools, from the list re-read every hour: new ones show up on their own.
What happens if several people want to work together with Pan on code?
Group coding, several people in the same conversation with the agent, is not there yet: it is coming, with no dates. Today each person has their own working copy of the project and their own team, because agents are per person.
Apps and connectors
How do I add or remove an app from the bar?
The + at the bottom of the bar, Add or remove apps, opens the apps window: Add puts one in the bar, Remove takes it out. The bar holds the apps you use, in your order.
How do I make a new app?
Choose New app…, which shows for whoever has the “Create apps” permission: it asks for the name, then six questions (what it keeps, where it comes from, which nodes it produces, which views it is looked at with, who sees and changes it, what the agent can do) and a summary to confirm. A table is born with its views: Create an app.
Who can turn on an app?
The app is born off. Whoever has the “Create apps” or “Turn on features” permission turns it on and off, with Turn on and Turn off: everyone else sees the ones that are on. It can be changed later: when the manifest changes the app goes up a version, while the name is chosen once.
How do I connect Zapier, Make or my site’s form to a table?
On a table choose External services…, if you manage it: copy the connector’s address, which shows only once. When the service sends something, a row is born in the table, on behalf of whoever connected it.
How do I make a table do something on its own?
With a rule: open This table’s rules and choose New rule, which asks three questions, when, what, where, and reads like a sentence. Whoever manages the space writes it. With Turn on, Turn off or Remove you run it whenever you like, and the latest runs sit under the rule.
What happens if I want to install an app from GitHub?
You cannot yet: “Add an app from GitHub”, an open source app installed by whoever administers, is coming, with no dates. Meanwhile you can build your own with New app….
Outside assistants and the command line
How do I connect an outside assistant, such as Claude Code or Cursor?
In Settings, Links, choose External assistants… (the entry is there only if Fallthere has the door turned on). You give it a name, choose Read only or Read and write and where it works, In all my spaces or just one, and copy the code, which shows only once. What it can do and where it works cannot be changed later.
What can an outside assistant do, and what not?
It reads what you see and, if the code writes, creates and changes rows, pages and tables; nothing is deleted. It works as you, with your access rules and only in the places you chose: it does not go where “Use Pan” is missing, nor into reserved fields, nor into the People table or conversations.
Where do I see what an outside assistant did?
In What it did, in the assistant’s window: which tool, how it went, never the content. Remove turns it off at once, and what it has already done stays.
How do I use Fallthere from the terminal?
With the “panfold” command. In External assistants… you take a code with Copy the code for the “panfold” command, install the .tgz package with npm and run panfold entra, which asks for the code without showing it. Then panfold cerca, panfold cose and panfold riga: the command names are in Italian.
Where does the “panfold” command keep my code?
In a file only you can read: if others can read it, the command does not use it and says how to close it. For another program there is --json, and for a pipeline two environment variables are enough, no file.
